Many building materials and systems require joints to ease stresses due to expansion and contraction. Being in New England means heat and cold, wet and dry, freeze and thaw, expand and contract. Engineers, architects, builders all need to be aware and protect their work against the natural stressors of New England. Check Out the many different types and purposes and expansion joint materials and systems.

SPEED-E-JOINT
Preformed Contraction Joint
| To install SPEED-E-JOINT, press straight edge cutting tool into the wet concrete to part the aggregate in a straight line. Place SPEED-E-JOINT into the separation until the top segment lays on the surface of the wet concrete. Remove the top. Float concrete to fill all voids adjacent to SPEED-E-JOINT and finish in the normal manner. |
DESCRIPTION
FIBRE EXPANSION JOINT is composed of cellular fibers securely bonded together and uniformly saturated with asphalt to assure longevity. Wherever a cost-effective joint filler is required, FIBRE EXPANSION JOINT meets the need. Manufactured and marketed by W. R. MEADOWS since the early 1930s, FIBRE EXPANSION JOINT is backed by over 70 years of proven application experience. FIBRE EXPANSION JOINT is versatile, resilient, flexible and non-extruding. When compressed to half of its original thickness, it will recover to a minimum of 70% of its original thickness. FIBRE EXPANSION JOINT will not deform, twist or break with normal on-the-job handling. Breakage, waste and functional failure resulting from the use of inferior, foreign fiber materials can cost you time, dollars and can result in a substandard finished job, generating costly callbacks and rework expenses. However, the purchase and installation of FIBRE EXPANSION JOINT (a small segment of the total project’s cost) contributes to both the final cost efficiency and functional success, far greater in proportion than its original cost.
USES
FIBRE EXPANSION JOINT is ideal for use on highways, streets, airport runways, sidewalks, driveways, flatwork and scores of commercial and industrial applications subject to pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Vinyl M-Type Expansion Joint with Removable Tapeis designed to relieve stress in the stucco membrane
caused by typical stucco shrinkage and thermal movement. These joints can be ordered without the removable tape.
NOTES:
Removable tape has been provided to insure a clean joint after stucco application. All joints should be embedded in sealant and sealed after installation if necessary. If the joints are ordered without the removable tape, it will be the contractor's responsibility to keep the joint clean of wet stucco and any other debris.
AMICO's M-Slide™ is a new water management accessory that works like the #40 Joint for
movement, but improves the flashing and drainage from the area as needed. The M-Slide™
Horizontal combines a weep screed design with a larger, solid flange (on bottom) to provide
intermediate flashing/drainage at mid-floor expansion. The M-Slide™ Vertical utilizes larger
flanges and a stiffer design to “pre-set” the vertical joint for proper attachment.
AMICO Drywall Control Joint Deep “V”
(with Removable Tape)
is designed to help relieve stress in large areas of drywall or veneer plaster installations. Perforations and ridges on all surfaces that receive finishing compound or veneer assure excellent adhesion. Provides a 1/16” ground.
AMICO EIFS Expansion Joint
(Deep “V”) for 1/4” Ground with Removable Tape
is manufactured with a deep center “V” whi
ch allows for more movement than would normally be possible with one that matched the thickness of the finish coat. This bead requires that a space be left between sheets of foam, or routed into the foam board to accommodate the deep center “V”. All surfaces that receive finish have ridges for better adhesion.
1/4” ground is typically used with some 1-coat stucco and hard coat EIFS systems

EXPANSION JOINT FILLER
